Upcoming Events:

· Xmas Party - Sunday, Dec 19th, 2010. Come for some winter fun - meet at The Forks at 3pm for skating; reservations at The Spaghetti Factory at 4:30pm for food and drink.

· Holiday Schedule: No classes on Dec 24^th, 25^th, 31^st or Jan 1^st. We will have class on Dec 27^th & 29^th - if you need to loose some weight. Schedule resumes to normal as of Jan 3^rd.

· Kyu Testing - Friday, Jan 14^th, 2010.

· Kangeiko - Jan 9^th to 15^th, 2011 - The annual week of intensive training is coming.

· Halloween Party - Friday, Oct 29^th, 2010. Come for some candy and fun after class.

· Remembrance Day - Nov 11^th, 2010. During class on Wednesday, Nov 10^th, we will take a moment to honour those that have fallen for our country.

· Weapons in the Park - Starting on Wed, May 12^th, 2010 (and then every second Wed through the summer) we are holding weapons class at the Assiniboine Park

· Aikido of Winnipeg is Giving a Demonstration - Sep 11th, 2010 at the Forks during the Dragon Boat Races from 2:15 to 2:45 pm. Look for us at the Finish Line Stage.

· Kyu Testing - Friday, Sep 17^th, 2010.

· International Aiki Peace Week - Sep 20^th to 26^th, 2010. There are 300+ Dojos around the world participating, including the Aikido of Winnipeg dojo. For information go to: http://www.aikipeaceweek.org.

· 4^th Annual Aikido of Winnipeg Camping Weekend - Hecla Provincial Park - Sep 3^rd to 6^th, 2010.

· Doug Sensei, Leanne and Ralph as Uchi Deshi - From Aug 21^st to 31^st, the three of them will be in San Leandro, CA working.

· Kyu Testing - Friday, Aug 13^th, 2010.

· Seminar with Bill Essig, 5^th Dan: July 23^rd - 25^th, 2010. We are proud to be hosting Bill Essig from Aikido of San Leandro for a seminar at our Dojo.

· Kyu Testing - Friday, Apr 30^th, 2010.

· No Keiko on Good Friday - Fri. Apr 2^nd. The dojo will be closed.

· Minnesota Aiki Shuren Dojo - Mar 27^th & 28^th. Mark Larson Sensei is hosting a seminar at St. John’s University and many from the Aikido of Winnipeg dojo will be traveling to attend.

· Celebration for Leanne and Gillian - Sat. Mar 6^th. A party will be held to celebrate the excellent tests that Leanne and Gillian had in San Leandro.

· Uchi Deshi in San Leandro - Feb 20^th to Mar 2^nd, 2010. Doug Sensei, Leanne, Toby and Gillian are traveling to California for a week of hard training.

· Kyu Testing - Friday, Feb 12^th, 2010.

· Sleigh Ride and Fun Day - Sun, Feb 7^th. We are going to the Unique Corral Sleigh Rides on Sturgeon Road - bring the hot chocolate.

· Winter Warrior - Sat, Feb 6^th, 2010 - by the Portage Jiu-Jitsu Club. Doug Sensei will be one of the guest instructors. Click on http://www.portagejiu-jitsu.net/special-events.html for more information.

· Kangeiko - a week of intensive training - Jan 17^th - 23^rd, 2010. An additional Sunday 2-hour practice plus 1-hour morning classes from 6:15 - 7:15 am everyday.

· Holiday Season Keiko - the dojo will be open with the exception of Dec 25^th, 26^th and Jan 1^st.

· Xmas Party - Saturday, Dec 12^th, 2009 - potluck at the dojo and then bowling at Academy Lanes.

· Kyu Testing - Friday, Dec 11^th, 2009.

· Remembrance Day Keiko - in honor of one of our members that was killed in Afghanistan.

· Doug Sensei and Leanne are traveling to San Leandro as Uchi Deshi - Aug 22^nd to Sep 1^st.

· Seminar with Hendricks Sensei - Aug. 8^th & 9^th, 2009. We are proud to announce that we are once again hosting Patricia Hendricks Sensei for an excellent intense seminar.

· Weapons in the Park - Starting on Wed, May 27^th, 2009 (and then every second Wed through the summer) we are holding weapons class at the Assiniboine Park (next to the Formal Gardens) from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.

· Farewell Party for June - Jun 19^th. Our favorite Thailand exchange student is going back home. Party and gifts to wish her all the best.

· Hitohiro Saito Soke in San Leandro, CA - Jun 4^th - 7^th, 2009. Join Doug Sensei in his travels to California to attend a world class seminar.

· Spring Cleaning - Sat, Jun 20^th, 2009. Dojo clean up and lots of other tasks to be tackled.

· Tai Sai - Apr 29^th, 2009. We will be celebrating the life and contribution of Morihei Ueshiba, O’Sensei on this the 40^th anniversary of his passing.

· Toby and Chelsea’s Wedding Social - Mar 14^th, 2009.

· Mark Larson Sensei at the Minnesota Aiki Shuren Dojo - Apr 4^th & 5^th. Many from the Aikido of Winnipeg dojo will be traveling to attend the seminar.

· Doug Sensei as Uchi Deshi - Aug. 17 to 26, 2008 - Doug Sensei is traveling to San Leandro, CA to spend a week of intensive training with Pat Hendricks Sensei.

· Doug Sensei traveling to Japan. In April, Doug Sensei will be traveling to Japan with his work and is spending extra time there in the Iwama dojo as an Uchi Deshi.

· Shibata Shihan at the Minnesota Aiki Shuren Dojo - Apr. 5 & 6. Many from the A of W dojo are planning to attend.

· Doug Sensei and Toby Brook are in San Leandro, CA as Uchi Deshi - February 15^th - 25^th, 2008.

· Kangeiko - a week of intensive training - January 13 - 19, 2008. An additional Sunday 2-hour practice plus a 1-hour morning class from 6:30 - 7:30 am everyday.

· Pat Sensei in Kitchener - Golden Triangle dojo is hosting Pat Hendricks Sensei for a seminar on Jan. 26 & 27.

· Christmas Party - Saturday, Dec. 15th - glow bowling at the Academy Lanes, food, drinks, and an optional gift exchange.

· Kyu Testing - Friday, Dec. 7, 2007

· Workshop - Saturday, Nov. 24th - 4:00 pm - Bill Temple from Prairie Phoenix Martial Arts will teach us some Tae Kwon Do. Dinner afterwards.

· Halloween Party - Stay after class on Wednesday, Oct. 31st for food and refreshments… costumes are optional.

· Board Meeting - Monday, October 22, 2007, after class.

· Doug Sensei as Uchi Deshi - Sep. 30 to Oct. 7, 2007 - Doug Sensei is traveling to San Leandro, CA to spend a week of intensive training with Pat Hendricks Sensei.

· Aikido of Winnipeg Camping Weekend - the dojo members are planning a camping weekend of fun and sun in the Riding Mountain National Park during the September long weekend. Sign-up sheet is in the dojo.

· MS Bike Tour - August 25 & 26, 2007 - Doug Sensei and his wife, Debbie, are participating in the fund raising event for Multiple Sclerosis. It’s a 170 km bicycle ride over two days to raise money for MS. This will be Debbie’s 8^th time and Doug Sensei’s 7^th.

· Picnic in the Park - the 3rd annual picnic in the park. An afternoon at the Assiniboine Park for food, socializing, and baseball. Sunday, August 12, 2007.

· Memorial Gasshuku in San Diego, CA - Doug Sensei is travelling to the Sunset Cliffs Aikido dojo for the seminar in honor of Saito Sensei - May 25 - 27, 2007.

· Kyu Testing - Friday, May 18, 2007

· Dojo General Meeting - the Aikido of Winnipeg dojo will be holding a general meeting on Monday, May 14, 2007. It will begin at 7:30 p.m. after training.

· Minnesota Aiki Shuren Dojo spring seminar - several A of W members will be travelling to Minnesota for the seminar - March 31^st & April 1^st, 2007.

· February 17th, 2007 - MOVED - the dojo has finally moved to it’s permanent location in the lower level!!!

· Doug Sensei is in San Leandro, CA as Uchi Deshi - February 23rd - March 3rd, 2007

· Kangeiko - a week of intensive training - January 28 to February 3, 2007
